Having exhibited a few times over the years with the Society of Graphic Fine Arts I decided to seek membership this year & am delighted to have been elected as an Associate last month.
This involved my sketchbooks & finished work being submitted to the SGFA council in London & returning later in the day for their decision.
I will become a full member in three years time.
Visitors to the annual exhibition, as every year, have voted for their favourite artwork from 270 exhibits. More than 400 people voted out of about 600 who visited the exhibition in just one week.
I'm thrilled to have received the most votes for this charcoal & pastel drawing - "Stand Off" though slightly embarrassed - having won the popular vote last year too!
2 - 14 October 2017
There will be about 200 works selected from 100's of submissions from around the country so I feel very priviledged to have had all 3 of my pictures accepted.
The Society promotes fine drawing skills in both traditional & contemporary media.
I'm helping to run the exhibition this year & will also be submitting some work.
There will be about 300 works of art from amateur & professional artists beautifully displayed in a wonderful large oak panelled hall.
Admission is free & there's a car park on site.
Delighted that my charcoal drawing Family in the Shallows has been accepted by the Society of Graphic Fine Arts for Draw 16 - Annual Open Exhibition, 3rd - 15th October at the Menier Gallery in London
